Helambu Circuit Trek 12 Days

A scenic trek through Langtang Valley to the sacred Gosaikunda lakes

Helambu region is immediately north of Kathmandu. It is one of the best short treks near Kathmandu to explore scenic villages of Tamang and Tibetan Sherpas and their tradition and culture. Although only a days’ drive from Kathmandu, this region is a relatively isolated wilderness with picturesque village, ancient monasteries and great panorama of snow-capped peaks. This trek takes a loop around Melamchi Khola. This is a classic Himalayan trek with far less crowd than other popular treks of Nepal. The trek passes traditional Hindu and Buddhist villages, beautiful monasteries, mountain view-points, alpine meadows and pine and rhododendron forests. It is best trek for those having a limited time and unwilling to go into high altitude. It offers all the Himalayan taste of a trek staying at low altitude. This is also best trek to beat the crowd and explore deeply the local tradition, culture and life-style.
